The STRAIGHT-UP DEATH meme
- Pick a character.
- Put their name and subject line in the header.
- Tagging people: RNG or just pick one below. Needless to say, this meme may contain TRIGGERS for death, violence and suicide.
- Posting people: the person who tagged you is now DYING.
- Have fun.
OPTIONS: - Illness: Self-explanatory. You're on your deathbed from a long and drawn-out illness. Time to call someone to your side for comfort, or for a confession...
- I Cannot Self Terminate: Maybe they're horribly injured, or maybe they've been mutated into a horrific monster. Either way, they can't tell anyone that they want to die--though no one doubts it. Will you be the one to take mercy on them?
- Execution: Once again, self-explanatory. You fought the law and the law won. This is probably the last time anyone will see you...or is the other character your executioner?
- Secretly Dying: Letting your friends and family know that you're terminally ill, or have been marked for death, or have a curse placed on you? No way. You'd rather keep them at ease. But all lies exist to be found out...
- And Make You Watch: This person has hurt you in every possible way, but you can't bring yourself to kill them...looks like there's no recourse but to kill yourself. But before you do it, there's just one way you can twist the knife a little...
- Bungled Suicide: You don't want to die, but can't think of any way to live. Fortunately, one of your friends has stumbled in at just the right time...
- Murder: Pretty self-explanatory. One of your characters is trying to kill the other.
- Fatal Accident: Drowned? Caught in a fire? Happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time? All accidents and unhappy, untimely ends go here.
- Duel to the Death: You, sir/madam, have been offended in every possible way, and it's time to settle this once and for all.
- Old Age: Well, you've had a good run, haven't you? Somehow you managed to avoid all the other pitfalls your friends have, but everybody has to pay the piper eventually...
- Ghost: You're already dead. But you had some unfinished business to attend to, so you're making just one last visit...
- Other: Make up something or combine two or three!

I never said I wouldn't keep them, Will. They might not be my specialty, but I think I know a thing or two about taking good care of Pokemon.
[There's a beat, then she adds:] Besides, don't flatter yourself; with the way you had been handling the job, you might as well have the stamina of an old man.
[She doesn't mean his job at the Pokemon League, either, but a different kind of performance instead. All said in good (albeit forced) humor, of course.]

I suppose if you really wanted, I could see if I had any last vestiges of youth left.
But I'm just tired these days.

[... what do you know, dark humor. Erm. It suits her, okay.]
no subject
But. Point taken.

[Such as, you know, when they're talking about his imminent death. In a way, that is actually a small comfort; it meant he was still alive, in more than just the physical sense.]
no subject
[THIS IS TRUE. Do not argue with truth.]
no subject
[Really, Will, you shouldn't have said that. Because now she will uncoil in all lethargy, silvery blue hair cascading across the mattress as she hoists herself up just enough to place her head on his lap.]
Do you really think so? [Because, you see, there is more than one way to do innuendo; body language just so happens to be one of them.]
no subject
You seem to agree with me, at any rate.
no subject
Perhaps my memory could use a little freshening up.

He runs his fingers through her hair. It feels so damn good, but something about this feels wrong...]
I don't know. Perhaps for once it could be a part of something other than just us going off at each other.
no subject
Saying it out loud, however, was something else.]
Ah, but the question is-- [She lifts a hand up to stroke his hair in all pretense of disinterest, but actually returning his gesture in ways that bordered on sweet.] --should I even listen to your ideas or just go with mine instead?
no subject
[He might have implied that to her before, but now he's stating it pretty cleanly: his illness already took his mind-reading from him.]
no subject
Well. [She offers him a small shrug at first, trying to hide how much the news made her uncomfortable-- but it only lasted for a minute. When she reached for his collar again and pulled him closer down, the meaningful look and catty smirk may have been still a part of her charade, but they were also a little more genuine, too.]
I could show you.
no subject
By all means, lead the way.

Unlike her deliberately slow movements up until then, Karen sits up and closes the gap between them with her lips crashing against his in an all too fluid motion, almost as if paranoid she would change her mind. There was something very wrong about having even the most fleeting thoughts of sex given the circumstances, but also something very liberating. He wouldn't be around for much longer, and his memories would linger even less; if there had ever been a better moment to give in to those feelings, it didn't really matter anymore.
Then and now might be the only moment they still had left.]
no subject
It might be the only chance he has left in this world.]
no subject
Was that perhaps how real couples acted?]
Hmmm... [She heaves a sigh when she finally lets go, though she's still pressed oh-so-tightly up against him. And then, only after she was allowed another moment to be true to herself, was that her smirk came into play once more.]
I think that was enough freshening up.
no subject
Could you...stay?
[He doesn't even care if this is how far it goes. He just kind of wants your company right now, whatever it is you and him end up doing.]
no subject
If you'll close your eyes.
no subject
He's going to be a good boy and close them, Karen. Just for you.]

Now that she is safely away from his scrutiny, the coast is clear for her to give him a soft smile - one that would likely ruin her reputation as a bad girl if anyone saw it - reaching for the pocket in the back of her pants so to retrieve a certain item she had been keeping for a while now: his old mask.]
There. [She carefully deposits the elastic band over his eyes, a poke on the tip of his nose working as a signal for him to look up again.] All set.
no subject
...well, there's a laugh there.]
I thought you'd have thrown it to the bottom of the ocean. To be mauled by a pack of Sharpedo.
Then washed ashore, used in a sandcastle, be knocked down and then buried for all eternity.
no subject
When she speaks next, her tone is a little more serious, though still every bit as kind.]
And it sounds like it was a good idea, in retrospect; I figure you might be needing it again.
[It was his security blanket, after all.]
no subject
For old times' sake?
no subject
Not just yet. I still prefer you without that mask, you know.
