[The usual cycle had ended and restarted, as always, with waking up after a thousand years. A few days in, she'd met you. She's kept her distance somewhat - she learned the hard way why she ought to never become too attached.

However, that wasn't the only reason. These past few days haven't felt like the rest of the weeks she's been awake. She'd awoken oddly, too - rather than slowly morphing from the Millennium Comet, she had suddenly broken free from the stone. She realized fairly quickly that her time must be waning. Nothing lives forever, after all.

The signs that something is wrong have built up in the short time you've known her. It's readily apparent that she hasn't been sleeping. She wants to make the most of this last week. She's been getting worse by the day.
